Another Revamped Trailer

If you thought yesterday's trailer for The Shining was good, check out the horror film that the light-weight West Side Story has been turned into.

Here's the story of how both trailers came to be.

Lesson Learned

So we can all rest assured that Bush, after the whole Katrina fiasco, would never hire or nominate someone to a very important federal position without that person having both the qualifications and experience to get the job done, right? He'd never make the same mistake he made with the FEMA head who had no experience with emergency services, right?

Or maybe not.

But then, it doesn't say anywhere that someone who'll be a judge on the Supreme Court should have any experience being a judge, does it? And she was the head of the Texas Lottery for five years. That's gotta count for something.

Picture This

Here are ten nifty science photos that'll tinker with your head a little.

The Feel Good Movie Of The Year

Perhaps the most chilling book I've ever read is Stephen King's The Shining, and perhaps the most chilling movie I've ever seen is Stanley Kubrick's film version of that book. Even twenty-five years or so after I first saw it, I stuill can't walk down an empty hotel hallway at night without picturing those twins or the door slightly cracked open.

That said, perhaps I've been looking at the book and the film all wrong. Perhaps I've totally missed the heart of King's story and the tenderness of Kubrick's vision.

Maybe The Shining was meant as a chick flick all along. (9.5mb)

Now I'll never see that movie in quite the same way again.
